Blaha Family

Hello, world! (As WordPress likes to say) Welcome to the blog for the Blaha’s on the southside of the US. This blog has been created so that we (as big of a family as we are) might be able to keep up with life at home in all of our diverse lives as well as allowing the Blaha relatives on the northside of the US as well as the Polish side of the tree to keep track of what in the world is going on down here. Of course, we won’t deny or turn away others – but I’m sure you don’t want to be bored with everything that happens here.

How did we get our name? Well, it was interesting to see some of the names that we came up with in the creation of this blog. Here are some of the ones that did not make it:

- Northerners Move South

- South of the Border

- Scary Family in a Normal World

- Normal Family in a Crazy World (definitely did not pass because of the first adjective)

- The Family Circus

- The Only Blog in the World that Cares about the Blaha’s in the South – Volume MCX

- Orphans With Parents

- Singles With Parents

- Life of Lifers

- The Only Family with Someone in each Age Group

- Pollocks Living Like Mexicans in America

- Too Cheap to Live on our Own

- 1 Pollock + 1 Bohemian = 6 Bollocks

- Till Death Do Us Part (Who knows how soon that will be)

- Living with a Big Family for Dummies

- The Blaha At-Home Course

- Too Cheap for Real Housing

- Full House – No Really!

- The Blaha College and Career (and our biggest fans)

- Authors of the World’s Shortest Book Ever: Leaving Home in the Teen Years

We finally concluded that our title fits best because this describes us best. I kinda stole and transposed the name from the TV show “Little People in a Big World.” However, our circumstance is quite opposite. There are eight of us that actually live at home including one that is away at college now. The oldest child (if you want to call him that) is 28 years old with the youngest being 14. The Lord has not called any of us to marriage yet (except my parents obviously). Through all of our hectic schedules, we find little if any time to be at home. We hope that this blog might provided some inside to each others lives in addition to our existing blogs. Maybe we can find some organization in this chaotic world.

We hope that you might enjoy our posts as you get to see some of the stuff that goes on in our lives. Stay tuned to more later.
